Former Chateau Kamiya wine-making facilities

Chateau Kamiya was Japan's first full-scale winery, founded in 1903. The office, fermentation chamber and storage room are still extant. They have great historic value and in 2008 were designated by the government as important cultural properties. In 2020, they were certified as Japan Heritage.
The office was on the west side of the 1st floor, and the Japanese-style room was on the east side. Denbee stayed there when he came from Tokyo. On the second floor, the reception room and hall were used as social gatherings, and wine parties were held inviting the imperial family and government officials.
